I can't find my custom content?

Custom content will not work, every time I try to get the file from WinRAR in the custom content, it opens up internet explorer... This happens on every download for the content I want and when I try to find the file from WinRAR the download will have an internet explorer icon, and when I try to download it opens up a window with my downloads from internet explorer. I can't seem to extract the files so that I can get the file I need so I can actually play. I make no sense, I'm so sorry but I'm trying my best to explain.
