Sims2 Launcher has stopped working
I am at my wits end. This popped up months ago and I was panicky and upset. I have worked on a family now for 4 years. I am on the fifth generation. I have OFB, University installed where my sims have their own businesses and children are in college. I thought the CDs were defective because when I put in the OFB cd it asked me to put in sims 2 deluxe and I did, but when I did this, it told me to insert a CD and the CD was already in there. So I bought these games over again (twice). When I put them In it asks to reinstall the games. I don't want to lose my hard work. When I hit the shortcut, I get the error message, "The sims 2 launcher has quit working" I am so disgusted. I bought the sims 3. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS GAME!!! I won't to play my game and the characters I have created since 2008. I have had to redo this family now three times because of hard drive crashes and new PC's. Sims 2 doesn't work with windows 8 so I keep my windows 7 maintained in order to play sims 2 and NOW, I get this crummy dumb message!! Windows states there is a problem and I will be notified if a solution is found.
There is no solution. I have tried to call tech on the phone like I used to before they discontinued the sims 2 community. It rings and no one ever picks up. Before, I had no problem getting a tech and allowing them to access my PC to fix the problem. I have paid TOO much money for these games. I have 3 of eachm not to mention the other expansion packs that I bought and NOW can not use because everything depends on the sims 2 disc in order to work. I am really disappointed and thoroughly upset. Can anyone please help me? I feel like I have thrown hundreds of dollars out of the window. I even thought it may be my PC, even though it was new when this happened. I took it to the store and they said the CD rom was working perfectly and it seems like it's a problem with the software. I've exhausted all I know what to do. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this problem? Solution
