I am a total newbie to Sims and just wondering where all the items are? I think there is a total of two microwaves to choose from . Do I have to level up to unlock more items ? If this isn't the place to ask this question, can you point me in the right direction pls K2thelee (talk) 06:38, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

If you're playing The Sims, The Sims 2, or The Sims 3, rather than an online game like The Sims Social, then there is no such thing as 'leveling up'. All the objects that are available to buy are there from the start of the game, and can be bought for your Sims' homes, assuming you have the Simoleons to pay for it. However, whether you're playing the game with our without Expansion packs or Stuff Packs makes a big difference in the number and variety of objects available in buy mode. If you're playing just the base game and no expansions, there might only be one or two of a particular kind of item.
Additionally, you can go onto many fan websites and download additional custom-made items for use in your game; many of these websites offer the downloads for free. I personally would recommend ModTheSims, as they have an extensive catalog of downloadable free items for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3.
All this aside, I hope you're enjoying The Sims so far! -- LiR speak ~ read 06:50, November 30, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks alot this has helped quite a bit, Would you happen to know why I can't seem to fit a sink onto my newly installed counters ? the sink won't come off the floor ? 58.169.253.226 (talk) 02:26, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
Probably because you used an island counter instead of a kitchen counter? Sinks cannot be attached to an island counter. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:50, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
