Forums: IndexCommunity discussionsMerging compilation pack articles | Post

This is a follow-up to "Merging articles about TS1 compilations." In that thread, I sought a consensus to consolidate all the compilations for The Sims into one article. Within that thread, it was proposed (and supported by some people) that we do the same with compilations for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 as well. Since that initial thread dealt specifically with TS1 compilations, I decided to start this thread to see if we want to do this to the TS2 and TS3 articles as well. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 18:54, August 6, 2013 (UTC)

Discussion

Sticking with what I said in the last forum discussion on this topic, I think we should merge all compilation pack articles by generation as it saves other users from trailing through many articles to find the pack they're looking for. It also reduces the amount of cluttered articles. Beds (parlare - da leggere) 19:22, August 6, 2013 (UTC)

Having pages on stuff like The Sims 3 Plus Pets and The Sims 2 Fun with Pets Collection is almost pointless as it's nearly impossible to make articles worth reading based on a base game and an EP being packaged together. I fully support the merge. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 00:17, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

The compilation pack for The Sims 2 is a bit different, though I can't make sure of that. Some of the things are like whether the compilation is an all or none expansion content or not, and the order of disc to insert. I heard that there are some bugs with the compilation pack as well, but I didn't remember what. Maybe it was just a rumor or something.

For The Sims 3, I suppose we can merge them with their corresponding EP (I don't know about The Sims 3 Expansion Bundle though). For worlds compilation, we can merge all to The Sims 3 Worlds Bundle as the title is rather generic. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:35, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
