Whilst looking around I noticed there isn't many help pages or I couldn't find them (which, is also not helpful). As a knew user it is difficult trying to do things especially hasn't there isn't much help from the start.

I think a new help section should be added to the wiki. It could be a place where new members can find pages on how to great a userbox or cool custom signature and helpful tips on fanons.

'Adopt a user' should also be easier to locate, right now it floating in the middle of cyberspace not really linked. Adopt a user is something I found very useful. It helps new user to ask questions. I didn't want to go on someone user page and ask something random and made me shy away. But adopt a user helped me create a signature and ask for help when i needed it.

So in conclusion to this very long text, make a section for new people and helping them. Blue12porcupine talk 18:28, May 1, 2013 (UTC)

Discussion[edit source]

There is a Help namespace that is shared across the whole of Wikia that we can add TSW-specific stuff to if we wanted. Maybe (finally) redesigning The Sims Wiki:Community Portal could help dissect some of the issues mentioned in this proposal with maybe a change to the automated welcome message received by new users to be less "bulky" and more to the point. Thinning out the welcome message would most definitely help. Get rid of extra information and stick to the more general ideals. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 17:14, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Conclusion[edit source]

No real conclusion was reached, and while some ideas were suggested, none were pursued. Please feel free to implement some of the smaller ideas (like redesigning the CP or adjusting the welcome message). If there are bigger changes, feel free to re-start a thread.
