Hello TSW! It is I, Mr. Totaldramaman, or MTDM. You probably don't know me unless you're an avid IRC user on the #wikia-sims channel. So, since lots of you don't know a thing about me, let me introduce myself. I'm MTDM, of course. I'm a brony 8), a gleek 8), I have a TS3 family 8), I don't own any EPs 8(, and I like other shows that don't have a fan term.

Anyways, onto the reason of this thread. The Newsletter. The editor, BobNewbie has indirectly retired from TSW (through email, if I recall correctly). I don't want to go into it right now, because I don't know anything about it, so if you didn't know, he... retired. :|

Anywho, we can't let this wiki have no newsletter, right? Right. >.> So, I've made this forum to discuss revamping the newsletter. I've decided on some categories we can use for this new, revamped, newsletter. If you have any ideas, please talk about it in the categories section. Here are my ideas:

  • TSW side:
    • News. (Done by sysops and crats, right?)
    • Featured User Interview.
    • The Sims game review.
    • Horoscopes. (CALLED IT.)
    • Highlights.
    • Comics.
    • Advice collumn.
    • etc.
  • Fanon side:
    • Featured Fan fiction interview. (Interview for author about his/her fic.)
    • Featured Fanon interview. (An interview of the character/family played by the author!)
    • Featured Author interview.
    • New fanons.
    • Fanon reviews. (GG's idea.)
    • etc.

Good ideas? I can't seem to think of anything more for fanons, so please state your ideas here. And, the editor? In my honest opinion, I think DanPin and I should be the two in-command. DanPin because he's been an amazing contributor to the past newsletters, and myself because I'm a Grammar Nazi. And I can't stand bad spelling (If you see any bad spelling here blame my iPod. <.< xD). If you agree with my choice, or disagree, please support/oppose/nominate here.

I hope the community can make good of this!

xoxo. Signed, ~ MTDM 00:58, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

TSW ideas[edit source]

  • In regards to news being mentioned as being done by sysops and 'crats, it is usually preferred that news related to the wiki and/or The Sims series is delivered by those users but in the case of the newsletter, which is going to be run by two non-sysops, I don't see a problem with letting you guys do the news by yourselves. That said, I'm willing to help out on the news section if you want me to so that it looks like a "sysop or a crat" is doing it - it's up to you. :) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 14:58, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
By news, I meant admin news, as in what's going on with the wiki. Of course The Sims news can be done by any user, but wiki news should be done by admins, right? ~ MTDM 19:33, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
Normally wiki news would be done by admins, yeah but in the case of the newsletter. I don't mind if you guys do it and I can help you if you wish. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 20:35, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Fanon ideas[edit source]

  • Are you guys planning on keeping the system where a reviewer (DanPin from a guess :P) will still review someone's fanon upon request? (sorry for the bad wording, I'm still tired after seeing Calvin Harris DJ'ing last night) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 14:44, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
Ooh! I knew I was forgetting something. Added to the list. And who's Calvin Harris? ;) ~ MTDM 19:33, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
Har har ur so funneh aren't ya? ;) (for those who seriously have no idea who Calvin Harris is - listen to this song! :D) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 20:38, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
  • Truth. A review panel would be most welcome, and that should allow for better pruning, and even more so, improvement. Mathetesalexandrou 19:41, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Final Vote[edit source]

Support -- Sorry if it's too early, but we need to do this soon if we want to start the Newsletter by New Year's. If you're in favor of DanPin and I being the editors and the categories all the way up being the ones in the newsletter, support. And maybe for Christmas/Hanukkah/Quanza we can do something special? IDK, maybe not. ~ MTDM 06:08, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Comment -- But, you know, it's not final till DanPin agrees on being editor. XD ~ MTDM 06:16, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
I thought the above thingy was the final vote. :S Either way, support. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 09:55, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Support. Just waiting for him to accept nomination. A trip to hell is an exciting experience, isn't it?20:34, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
Support. I agree on the position. And I took some time to answer because I was (and am) grounded with no computer previleges. DanPintalkcontribs 22:17, December 4, 2011 (UTC)~

Conclusion[edit source]

Seems to be no opposition whatsoever from both of the votes. Approved. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 22:50, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
