Here's maybe the shortest forum thread intro I've ever written.

I think we ought to collectively agree that templates created as alternatives to existing templates, that are poorly-designed and don't fit within the wiki's theme, should be eligible for speedy deletion, without the need to engage in a deletion discussion. A current example would be Template:Standard Sim.

Thoughts? -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 16:18, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

I completely support this. Those types of templates have been seen as an annoyance and just deleting them without having to go through an unnecessary deletion discussion is great. There's going to be more of these in the future anyways. - SimDestroyer (talk) 17:05, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

YES. I've had enough of these templates being created, and even more annoyed when somehow people start using them. I don't know what is to blame here, Wikia's (oops, "FANDOM!") editing tools that seem to favour infoboxes using the Portable Infobox markup (even if in reality such templates are complete trash) or seemingly human tendencies to go out of one's way to do the wrong, non-obvious thing. I completely support creating a separate speedy deletion criteria for this, perhaps a T3. Poorly created alternative to existing template or something of the like. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 00:25, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
