We already have a pretty good idea of how worlds and neighborhoods work in The Sims 4, so I don't think this requires us waiting until the game release. Oasis Springs and Willow Creek are worlds, and both of them have smaller neighborhoods with up to five lots in each neighborhood. The "worlds"/"towns"/"neighborhoods" in The Sims 3 are not subdivided formally, but they are larger than those neighborhoods in The Sims and The Sims 2, and are notably much more open than in TS or TS2. -- <font color="navy">LostInRiverview</font> <font color="green">talk</font> ~ <font color="green">blog</font> 15:56, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

Forums: IndexCommunity discussionsTS3 Worlds or TS3 neighborhoods? | Post

There's a little discussion going on at Talk:World between Nikel23 and myself regarding whether The Sims 3 towns should be classified as worlds, in the same vein as worlds from The Sims 4, classified as neighborhoods as in The Sims and The Sims 2 (which is where they currently are), or whether we should pursue some third option.

On the one hand, EA/Maxis has used the term "World" to describe these places in The Sims 3, and released the Create a World tool to create those worlds. On the other hand, the TS3 idea of game worlds is different from TS4s. It could be argued, as well, that the TS3 worlds are just as different from the TS1/TS2 neighborhoods as the TS3 worlds are from TS4 worlds. Ultimately, I think this matter needs a little more open discussion, as it affects wiki organization, navigation templates, categories, etc.

Discussion

Hard to say. Maybe we could have World (The Sims 3) and World (The Sims 4), though that doesn't seem to be a very good option. Joey.eyeball (talk) 08:21, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

I don't know. Personally I'll just have to wait until The Sims 4 comes out. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:27, July 21, 2014 (UTC)
