The freelancer career functions similarly to [[skill career]]s in ''[[The Sims 3]]'' in that there is no workplace. Sims work on their own time from home, and level up after doing a certain number of gigs.
Good-natured gigs (such as creating art for a charity) will raise a Sim's [[reputation]]{{Vgversion|GF}}, whereas bad-natured gigs (such as forging art for a suspicious client) will lower their reputation.
