Is there life after death, or rather Death? The sims appear to have one. Both the Sims and Sims 2 featured ghosts, although the Sims 2 ghosts were much more complex.
Sims 2 ghosts
There is a different type of ghost for each type of death on the Sims 2. Each has there own color and many have special abilities. All ghosts can interact with some objects, for example making a chair float or a teddy's head spin, and all ghosts can scare living sims - sometimes even to death. Ghosts can
- Scare sims
- Float chairs (with sims on them), other small objects and there graves
- Turn on appliances
- Reenact there death
- Cause baths to fill of there own accord
- Float upstairs and will often nod in approval if thier bed is still there
Angry Spirits
There are lots of reasons a sim could be angry. If a sim died of starvation and there is no food on the lot, if a grave is destroyed, if a spouse remarries or if a non-relative moves on to the lot. Although all ghosts interact with objects and scare sims angry ghosts do so more violently including:
- Breaking electrical appliances
- Threatening gestures
- Specified haunting of one sim
Keeping ghosts at bay
The easiest way to keep ghosts quiet is to move them to a cemetery. When here several anger triggers will not work, however a starving ghosts will still be unhappy if there is no fridge. Mourning a grave will keep the ghost quiet for one night and building an island around the grave site will stop them from invading the sim's homes.
