Green Beard is featured in The Sims: House Party. He is connected with the KampRite Instant Kampfire, which was introduced in The Sims: House Party. Sims can tell stories around the campfire, and if the teller has high enough Charisma, Green Beard may appear. The campfire can be placed on both residential and community lots, and is present on several Vacation Island lots.

Green Beard returns in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage, except his name has been changed to Pirate Captain Edward Dregg. He can be found on his pirate ship, which can be bought in Buy Mode. He may appear if players have a Sim use the action "Plunder the Captain's Cabin", and if befriended, he can teach the Sim a pirate jig called a "Sea Chantey".
