It could be one of the graves located on the [[77 Maple Street|Goth Sr lot]], or it could be a grave which can be found in the back of [[Goth home|Mortimer's home]]. Her ghost indicates she died of [[old age]].

In ''The Sims 3'', Gretle is already deceased and her tombstone can be seen in the Goth family graveyard. She is buried with her husband, Victor, along with her daughter-in-law's parents and an unknown relative ([[Lolita Goth]]). Like the other dead Sims buried on the lot, Gretle's [[ghost]] haunts the Goth Manor. She has the [[flirty]] [[Trait (The Sims 3)|trait]], which is incompatible with the [[Unflirty (The Sims 3)|unflirty]] trait, one of the traits that her husband has.
 
If Gretle is resurrected and aged down to an [[adult]], it will be discovered that she had red hair with brown roots before it turned grey. This contradicts her [[genetics|genetic]] information in ''The Sims 2'' where her hair was black before it turned grey. It's possible that she dyed her hair red prior to becoming an elder.
In ''The Sims 3'', her appearance hasn't changed much. Her hairstyle is similar to the one she has in ''The Sims 2'', but her clothes are brownish rather than blue and white. In ''The Sims 2'', her natural hair color is black.

In ''The Sims 2'', Gretle is now buried in the new Goth graveyard, along with her husband, her son, and her daughters-in-law. Oddly her daughter Frida's tombstone is missing. Her ghost indicates that she died of [[old age]].
 
Gretle's appearance hasn't changed much. Her hairstyle is similar to the one she had in ''The Sims 3'', but her clothes are blue and white rather than brown and burgundy. Her eyes are also dark blue instead of grey. According to Gretle's SimDNA in [[Package editor#SimPE|SimPE]], her hair was black before it turned grey. According to her age data, she had 14 days left in the [[elder]] [[life stage]] when she died.
 
Strangely, if Gretle is extracted with SimPE to [[Body Shop]] and the player switches her gender to male using Body Shop or [[Create a Sim]], she will have a moustache, implying that she was created in Create a Sim, and that her gender was switched to male at some point before her creation was confirmed. This is also the case of [[Agnes Crumplebottom]].
