Guitar is a skill in The Sims 3.
The skill is augmented by the Artistic and Virtuoso traits.
Statistics
Compositions Known: Increases as you learn more compositions(by books),
Number of times compositions have been performed:Using the action: Perform compositions to increase this statistic
Money earned through playing guitar: Tips you've earned playing the guitar(Using the action Play for tips)
Number of times Sims have watched you perform: When each Sim watch you play, the statistic increases(One/Sim/day?)
Challenges
- Master Guitarist
- Master Guitarists learn to play every song awarded to them and available for purchase at the store. After learning so many songs, they receive a special Master Track!
- Guitar Star
- Guitar Stars must play at 10 Parties and Venues in the town to earn their title. Afterwards, they earn larger monetary rewards for tips and performances!
- This may be one of the hardest challenge to complete. The description is very misleading. You can not be Guitar Star just by having 10 house parties with friends and play guitar there. You must succeed in 10 guitar skill opportunity card. It is not Music career opportunity card. The hardest part is getting the guitar skill opportunity card at all. It is recommended you don't have any job (including Music career) and any other skill (not even basic cooking skill. Eat Quick Meal or pizza). Just play guitar for tip on the park and street day and night, day after days. Then, the opportunity cards will come. It takes about 6 sim weeks.
- Money Maker
- Earn §25,000 playing the guitar to earn a new Master Track to perform. Money can be earned through tips or by completing Opportunities.
Abilities
Sim with guitar skill level 5 or above can learn new song repertoire by buying and reading sheet music from bookstore.
Two more songs are available from Master Guitarist challenge and Money Maker challenge.
Experienced Sims can play for tips at level 5. If you play in a public place you will gain money and friends really fast.
Warning: A bug report says that putting away a sheet music into bookcase renders sim unable to learn the song.
