Karma powers are present in all versions of The Sims 3 for consoles. The player must earn karma points in order to use the karma powers. Every day at midnight, the player may be rewarded with karma points or a Bad karma power may be used at midnight if the player has overused or misused karma powers.

PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360[edit | edit source]

Good Karma[edit | edit source]

Good Karma

Good Karma is a form of karma that can result positively, whether it be to a Sim or their possessions.

  • Divine Intervention – Lose a Sim to death and want to bring back his or her ghost? Now, you can.
  • Get Lucky – Give your Sim a higher chance of succeeding with socials, woohoo, raises, promotions, fishing, and more.
  • Lucky Break[TS3P]- Sims who look will often find, but sims blessed with this power will find more often!
  • Good Times – Remove all bad moodlets from an entire household and good times are sure to be had. Does not remove pregnancy moodlets.
  • Instant Beauty – A chance to fix those physical features that just aren’t quite right. And then fix them again and again and again. This opens Create a Sim so you can edit facial and body features.
  • Super Satisfy – Immediately fulfills all of your Sims’ needs. Your Sim feels completely invigorated and is ready to face the future with new found hope.
  • Giant Jackpot – Shower your Sims with money and help the household gain wealth. Greed can be fun, but it can also haunt your Sim.
  • Stroke of Genius – Accelerate your Sims’ skill gain like their cooking, logic, or athleticism.
  • Bless The Mess – Broke your favorite shower or just want a clean house with the snap of a finger? This power will fix that right up for you and more.
  • A Little Sunshine [TS3P] - Adds a little to all motives to allow to do whatever you are doing for a little longer.
  • Ghostify [TS3P] - Wouldn't it be cool to be a ghost? Now you can with this karma power.
  • Transmogrify [TS3P] You can turn a Sim into a dog, a cat into a Sim. The possibilities are endless!

Bad Karma[edit | edit source]

Bad Karma

Bad Karma is a form of karma that can result negatively, whether it be to a Sim or their possessions.

  • Cosmic Curse – Cast instant doom upon any Sim. This curse depletes all of the target Sims' needs as well as causing other effects like nausea.[n 1]
  • Quake Maker – Terrify Sims with an earthquake, breaking objects, creating trash, and on occasion starting a fire.
  • Epic Fail – Any Sims’ worst nightmare; curse any Sim with clumsy fingers and watch chaos ensue. It might be best to cast it in their house and not yours. Make Sims fight, have gas, get demoted or fired, break things, cause fires, and more.
  • Fire Storm – Drop fireballs onto a location to cause destruction and mayhem.
  • Poltergeist(aka Ghost Invasion) – Make ghosts appear to haunt Sims.
  • Meteor Strike [TS3P] - Make an asteroid fall out of space, you do not want to be under one!
  • Feral Possession [TS3P] Make all pets come to your Sim's lot and wreak havoc on the couch or any Sim unlucky enough to be in their way.
  • Cry Havoc[TS3P] All Sims in the area will start brawling. It's a riot![1]

Nintendo DS[edit | edit source]

In this version Karma Powers can be unlocked through going to specific locations after obtaining enough lifetime happiness. There is no cost to using them in this version but they can only be used once per day with the exception of Wormhole and Winter Wonderland.

Good Karma[edit | edit source]

  • Giant Jackpot - Shower your Sims with money and help the household gain wealth. Greed can be fun, but it can also haunt your Sim. Beware!
  • Winter Wonderland - Winter really is the best time of the year and now your Sims can experience all year long!
  • Instant Beauty - A chance to fix those physical features that just aren't quite right. And then fix them again and again and again. This opens Create a Sim so you can edit facial and body features.
  • The Muse - For the love of art. Inspiration from this power increases your creative skills aiding the ability of your Sim to create better quality food and paintings.
  • The Riddler - For the love of logic. Inspiration from this power increases your Sim's mechanical and cognitive skill aiding the ability of your Sim to win more chess matches and upgrade items faster.
  • Casanova - Sometimes love seems impossible, but when your Sim is a Casanova no other Sim can resist their charm.
  • Wormhole - The power to open up space time to travel somewhere quickly is amazing, though overuse can cause unexpected things to happen.
  • Super Satisfy - Immediately fulfills all of your Sims' needs. Life is so wonderful! Your Sims feel completely invigorated and is ready to face the future with new found hope.
  • Bless the Mess - Only coming out when there is no one around, when these wee little wonders are set free things just seem to be magically fixed and cleaned.

Bad Karma[edit | edit source]

  • Cosmic Curse - Is your Sim really sick of a conniving townie? Do they want a bit of revenge? Make the Sim of your choice the town pariah.

Nintendo 3DS[edit | edit source]

In this version karma powers can be used from the karma power menu from the bottom screen but cost play coins rather than karma points.

Good Karma[edit | edit source]

  • Mr. Fix it - Instantly repair a broken object. Just the thing for Sims who prefer to leave the handiwork to others! Cost - 1 Play Coin.
  • Inspire - Activate this power to gain a point in one of your skills - though you never know what skill inspire will strike! Cost - 2 Play Coins.
  • Energize - Is your Sim feeling down in the dumps? Use Energize to maximize their needs and improve their mood! Cost - 2 Play Coins.
  • Calming Winds - Breathe in. Breathe out. Feel these mood boosting winds. and watch them put the fires out. Cost - 3 Play Coins
  • Holy Simoleons - There is a legend that a rich pilot likes to drop bags of money from his plane. Activate this power to send him on a flight! Cost - 5 Play Coins.

Bad Karma[edit | edit source]

  • Shock - This power creates an immediate and socially awkward release of the bladder. Cost - 1 Play Coin.
  • Nauseate - Use to immediately and repeatedly discharge the contents of a Sim's stomach. Cost - 1 Play Coin.
  • Singe - Give an Sim that just-electrified feeling. Be careful - too much electricity leads to bad things for Sims! Cost - 1 Play Coin.
  • Foul Winds - Foul Wind are blowing in. They bring trash and stench, to beware the awful smell! Cost - 3 Play Coins.
  • Shake it Up - This power really shakes things up! Caution: can cause busted pipes, broken appliances, and fire. Cost - 4 Play Coins

Wii[edit | edit source]

The Sims 3 for the Wii also features karma powers. Although some of the karma powers are different in this version, they can still have a similar impact on a Sim's life. In this version karma powers cost lifetime happiness points to use rather than karma points.

  • Giant Jackpot - Make your Sim instantly filthy stinking rich! It's better than a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
  • Get Lucky - Give your Sim a higher chance of succeeding with socials, woohoo, raises, promotions, fishing and more.
  • Super Satisfy - Immediately fulfills all of your Sims' needs. Life is so wonderful! Your Sims feel completely invigorated and is ready to face the future with new found hope.

  • Nudist Camp - How embarrassing! Use a magic wand, and embarrass the Sims of your choice by making their clothes disappear.
  • Make It Rain - Harness the power of the elements to unleash rain and high winds on your town.
  • Fury - Using the Magic Wand, all designated Sims start fighting each other for no reason!
  • Cosmic Curse - Cast instant doom upon any Sim. Depletes all of the target Sims' needs.
  • Epic Fail - For a low price, unleash any random Karma power on any unfortunate Sim. You might not get to choose the misfortune that befalls them but it will feel almost as good as you had.

  1. There is a bug where other Sims will randomly get the Disgusted moodlet while the Sim with the karma power doesn't.
