== Character file ==
Knut has the most corrupted character file of any pre-made Sim in the game, missing almost every aspect of his data other than his appearance. He has no age, [[Aspiration (The Sims 2)|aspiration]], personality or [[genetics]]. He also lacks [[skill]]s, [[interest]]s, [[memories]], and [[relationship]]s of any kind. He is intended to be deceased, but his death state is not properly recognized as the flags to mark him as such are also missing. In addition to all this, Knut has a large amount of outdated, or at the very least unused data inside his file, with some of the data appearing to be in file formats that the released game no longer uses.
Interestingly, despite most of his data being either corrupted or missing, Knut ''does'' have the programming specifically used for NPCs such as deliverypeople, indicating that he at some point was a normal delivery man. Given the general state of his character file, whether this programming actually functions in-game is dubious, however.
Although he has the appearance of an [[adult]], his age data is missing and if spawned will behave like a [[baby]]. However, he can not be interacted with by any Sim and the game will force an error if any Sim tries to do so. The game may crash upon any attempt to age him up. His personality will be randomized and the game will default his aspiration to the unused [[Power (aspiration)|Power]] aspiration.
His [[Genetics|SimDNA]] page does not open at all when clicked, suggesting that it's most likely corrupted as well. Since as mentioned, his DNA is unaccessible, his genetic information, if he has any, is unknown.
The missing data in his file can be restored using external tools such as [[Package editor#SimPE|SimPE]] to make him properly functional, though he may still exhibit unusual quirks in-game. For example, the game will ignore any personality data given to his file and will still randomize it when he is first spawned.
Why Knut specifically is so severely corrupted is unknown, though given that his grave doesn't exist, despite being clearly visible in a beta screenshot could suggest that the disappearance of his grave partially "shredded" his character file, as is known to happen.
