Lightning is a returning weather phase in ''The Sims 4: Seasons''. Sims that get struck by lightning will receive a moodlet; if they are struck again before the moodlet expires, they will either die or gain special superpowers that enable them to summon lightning to a location of their choosing. They can also strike other Sims with lightning. However, the struck Sim will not be affected. Lightning can also strike the ground, where it will affect plumbing and cause plumbing objects to spark.

Sims who are outdoors during a thunderstorm will become [[tenseScared|scared]] and will autonomously attempt run indoors. Even when indoors, Sims will receive a weaker tensescared moodlet for the duration of the storm.
