He is in the Mathematics [[major]]. Martin's twin brother, [[Joshua Ruben|Joshua]], also attends Sim State. The brothers have a 20/20 [[Relationship#The Sims 2|relationship]] with one another, so while they are not hostile or even estranged, they are not close, either.
He is the nerd on campus, while his brother is a popular jock who is in a prestigious fraternity. Surprisingly, though, he is also friends with the most popular girl on the campus, sorority girl [[Heather Huffington]], who has a crush on him Despite his bio say he prefer study and avoid the girls from sorority with hint that he might nt be interested in a romantic relationship. Even though Martin is in his first semester of the Freshman year, his average is 0, which is impossible because he hasn't gone through his final exam. Normally, the GPA for a first-semester Freshmen is blank. This happens with his roommate Allegra as well.
Martin has a kind but rather introverted [[personality]], tending to be shy, lazy, and neat. Not surprisingly for a nerd, Martin is strongly interested in sci-fi and the paranormal. His other main [[interest]]s are politics, weather, and work. He is not very interested in money, sports, or fashion. Like [[Castor Nova]], Martin does not have a pre-set [[Lifetime want]].
While it is unexplained whether he or his twin brother is the older one, Martin is 45 hours away from the final exam in his first semester, when the Bright household is first played. Joshua is 49 hours from the final exam in his first semester, which could indicate that Martin is the older twin. However it may just mean that Martin is better educated, as he is more focused than Joshua. Their NIDs indicate that Joshua was the first twin to be created.
He and [[Mickey Dosser]] have very similar facial features at the start of the game. However they will look quite different from each other when they become [[elder]]s, even though they both use the 25th face in [[Create a Sim]]. For other life stages Martin's face is linked to the 26th template while Mickey's is linked to the 2nd template. When editing in [[Package editor#SimPE|SimPE]], Martin's [[zodiac sign]] is not recognized.
