The O'Connell family is a pre-made family from the downloadable neighborhood of Dragon Valley, available from The Sims 3 Store. The family consists of husband and wife, Seamus and Shauna O'Connell and their three children, Morida, Aiden and Brien. The family all share similar favorites, favoring the same food and music but having various tastes in color.

The family resides at 100 O'Connell Heights, at "The Big House", the largest house in Dragon Valley, and begin the game with §10,000 in family funds. The O'Connell family may be based on the royal family from the movie Brave, as they are the leaders of Dragon Valley and have been for some time. Also, the way the family members look is like the characters from Brave, as well some of the traits, especially Morida, a tomboy girl like the heroine of the movie, Mérida.

Their name and association with dragons suggests they could be based on the Connell family from "The Dragonriders Of Pern", who almost all have red hair as did their ancestor "Red Hanrahan". The first couple of Dragon riders in the Connell family in the series are Sean and Sorka; Seamus and Shauna being similar names could be a reference to that.

A deceased Sim by the name Donal O'Connell may be related to the family.
