Opportunity/Community event

This is the list of community event special opportunities. Every week, community events will occur randomly throughout the town, located on random community lots that have blue star map tag from the map view. The game determines 2 random community events that will occur during the week every Sunday at 8 AM. Sims can check weekly event from the newspaper to see what events will occur during the week, their locations, and the days. In The Sims 3: Pets, community events that involve pets are 5 times as likely to be selected if the active household contains any respective pet species.

Sims can simply visit the community lot in order to receive the opportunity, unless the Sim has already had another opportunity in special category. Once Sims arrive at the lot, the players will be prompted to accept the opportunity. All of these opportunities expire in one day, and as soon as Sims leave the lot, they will instantly fail the opportunity. Sims cannot receive the same opportunity on the same day more than once if they have cancelled or failed it.

Even though pet community events appear on the map, the players will not be prompted if Sims don't have the required pet when they reach the lot.

Neighborhood Grill-A-Thon

The City Council is hosting another Grill-A-Thon in the park. All Sims with Cooking Skill are invited to come out and grill some food and share it with others around in order to foster kindness and neighborly feelings.

Chess Tournament

The local Society For a Smarter Tomorrow is holding a chess tournament at a local community lot. They want to empower all Sims that endeavor to make themselves better at Logic. In order to help things along, they are offering a cash reward.

Eating Contest

The Gastronomy Club is holding an eating contest at the local restaurant. Diners of all ages are invited to test their stomachs against the best this town has to offer. They could come away with lots of Simoleons if they win.

Community Meet And Greet

In order to make the town feel even closer together, the City Council has scheduled a Community Meet And Greet at a local park. They encourage all Sims to show up and learn about each other. They are hoping it will be a great party.

Music Appreciation Day

The Official Feline Followers are encouraging all cat lovers to socialize and meet new friends at the local cat jungle. They are really hoping it will be an Awesome Party for those that come.

Best in the Show Competition

The Alternative Sport Society is trying to push Foosball as the latest and greatest sport. Anyone with any skills should report to the contest lot and win some foosball games for fast cash.
