After placing down a pet display in a community lot or marking it for sale on a home business lot, an exhibit of a dog or cat spawns on it. While they idle with animation, they cannot be interacted from the glass cages. A playable sim can buy a respective pet from the corresponding display, with the freedom of picking the pet's name, age, breed, fur and body shape. If a household purchases a pet from an owned business while they are not currently being played, the player will be asked if they wish to keep the pet or not the next time they play that household. |

Pet display cases are objects introduced in The Sims: Unleashed and The Sims 2: Pets that are used to sell pets. They come in two variants—one for dogs and one for cats.
The Sims: Unleashed[edit | edit source]
Pet display cases are by default only located at Pet Paradise!, and can only be placed on Old Town community lots. When placed, pet display cases will automatically spawn a sample dog or cat inside of them that Sims can play with before purchase. If the player chooses to purchase a pet, they will be given the option of customizing the pet's appearance, even if it looks nothing like the pet on display. The new pet will appear shortly afterwards next to the purchasing Sim.

Pet displays work similarly to those in Unleashed, except that Sims can no longer interact with pets inside the cases. Like in Unleashed, players can customize their pet before purchase. Pet displays can also be used in an owned business; marking the display case for sale allows pets to be sold from it. If a household purchases a pet from an owned business while they are not currently being played, the player will be asked if they wish to keep the pet the next time they play that household.
There are two displays: Cat-Crazy Pet Display and the Doggonit Pet Display, and both cost §222.
