The photo booth is an object available in The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims 3: Showtime and The Sims 3: University Life.
The Sims 2

The "Sit 'n'Grin" Photo Booth from iBurn Commerical [sic] Imagery is an object that came with The Sims 2: Nightlife. It is featured on some community lots and can also be purchased under "Other, Other" in the Buy catalog. A Sim or several Sims can take a set of photos while inside, with 2 types: Normal and Goofy, or with 2 Sims, there are 3 types: Normal, Goofy, and Romantic. The photos are available in the inventory of the Sim who purchased the photos. They can be placed on a table or on the wall. Less outgoing Sims will fear using the photo booth.
There is also an alternate set of photos which non-playable Sims will take autonomously, depicting the Sim doing "sexy" poses. This can be found in the Sim's inventory after they have been made playable.
A photo booth is one of the places a couple can WooHoo. When two Sims with a high relationship score are inside, they may have the option to WooHoo or Try For Baby. Doing so in a photo booth in a community lot fulfills the want for "Public WooHoo".
The Sims 3

The Photo Booth returns in The Sims 3: Showtime with a new name: Gigi`s Photo Booth. It is very similar to the booth from The Sims 2: Nightlife, and is available on both community and residential lots. Pictures taken in this booth can be placed on a wall or kept in inventory and given as a gift.
It can be found under 'Entertainment' then 'Hobbies and Skills', or 'Study' and then 'Hobbies and Skills'.[1][2] Sims can WooHoo or Try for Baby in the photo booth and get the "Public WooHoo" moodlet. Sims can take normal photos, silly photos alone or together and romantic photos with their partner.
