Prom
Prom is a new feature present in The Sims 3: Generations for teens. A notice will pop up a few days before the actual prom so that the player can plan a date and/or plan an outfit. The player can ask, be asked, or go alone to the Prom.

During the day of the prom, a notification will pop up notifying you that the dance will be starting at 6 PM and you should begin getting ready. If you do not have a date, you may get a phone call from another teen sim asking you to the prom, depending on your relationships. Around 5 PM, a limo will park in front of your lot awaiting your sim to attend the prom.
Prom participants may be nominated as prom queen/king depending on how many friends your teen sim has. Through the night, you will recieve several notifications about what's happening such as your sim is tearing up te dance floor or hitting it off with another sim.The prom can also end with bad results such as the sim getting into a fight, being stood up, being rejected by crush for dance, etc...
Once the prom has ended, you will get get two notifications. One that says something such as "the school dance has ended, you might want to get home before your curfew begins." and another that lets you know that your prom picture is in your personal inventory.
Your sim may get a positive moodlet with +50 if he/she had a good time. If not, it will be -50.
