The Sims Social has a lot types of Sim relationships. Sims are able to make friends, enemies, lovers, with each other.

How It Works

• Mainly, the player needs to have his or her Sim to be neighbor of someone.
• At first the Sim will be a total stranger, but by greeting him or her will make both Sims acquaintances with each other.
• By either being friendly or mean to the Sim the player will get new relationship status, which may need confirmation (the other player is free to accept or deny it), each relationship status will unlock special interactions between the two Sims.
• When the player's Sim does not visit other Sims for awhile, the relationship bar will decrease.
• The player may then choose the type of relationship he or she wants for the two Sims, if it is either friends, lovers, enemies, etc.

Interactions

Relationships are built (or destroyed) by interactions, similar to other games in the Sims series. There are three kinds of interactions: Friendly, Romantic, Mean, Personality Exclusive, or Quest Related. Quest Related can fall into any of the other three categories of interactions, such as the "Bah Humbug!" interaction being Mean or the "Give Holiday Gift" interaction being Friendly. Depending on the relationship status, Romantic interactions could improve your relationship with your neighbor or cause it to decrease. Personality Exclusive interactions are selected for availability based on what personality you chose for your sim upon creation or what you changed it to at a later time.

Friendly Interactions - Apologize, Tell Story, Talk About Weather, Joke Around, Find Common Interests, Chew the Fat, Talk about Art, Talk about Cooking, Talk About Writing, Shoot The Breeze, Giggle Together, Reminesce, Ask about Day, Recite Haiku, Polite Chit-Chat, Gossip, Compliment, Show Appreciation, Discuss Work, Compliment, Share Private Joke, Friendly Hug, Share Your Happiness

Romantic Interactions - Flirt, Give Flowers, Trim Bush (interaction with certain flower bushes), Kiss, Whisper Sweet Nothings, Romantic Kiss, Cheesy Line, Compliment Appearance, Swap Numbers, Confess Attraction, WooHoo (requires double bed or some bathtubs), Cuddle (interaction with couch)

Mean Interactions - Insult, Laugh at Hairstyle, Steal Food (interaction with refrigerators), Insult Home, Petty Jab, Imply Mother Is A Llama, Argue, Ask For Money Back, Provoke, Sneer, Insult Outfit, Place Fake Spider (interaction with toilet and dressers), Place Fish (interaction with bed), Retune the Stereo (interaction with stereo), Mess Up Bed (interaction with made bed), Pee on Plot (interaction with garden plot), Place Whoopee Cushion (interaction with some chairs)

Personality Exclusive Interactions

• Geek - Light Sword Fight (considered a Romantic interaction as it can sometimes be rejected), Hack Computer (interaction with computer), Watch SciFi/Manga Channel (interaction with television)
• Athlete
• Creative
• Villain
• Socialite
• Rocker
• Romantic - Recite poetry (considered a Romantic interaction as it can sometimes be rejected).
• Introvert
• Tycoon

Relationship Status

Sims can have different relationship status with another Sim. It can be either friends, enemies, or lovers, as mentioned above.

There's also naughty friends status, but is only achieved using the neckerchief from the Paris Theme or the Devil tail from the Angel/Devil Theme.
