Satellite
A fallen Satellite
Game The Sims 2
Buyable No
Type Special

Satellites in The Sims 2 are only seen after a Sim is killed by one. They can be described as a smoking, trashy mass of debris, but one can tell what they are exactly with the buy mode description or a photo looking at the particular Sim's death. One can kill a Sim with a Satellite by having them Look at Clouds or Stargaze (not through the telescope, but on the ground) for a few hours. Satellites also sell for a massive amount of Simoleons--around §2,500--but the price drops rapidly, so it is best to go into buy mode as soon as possible to get the best price for the satellite. Being hit by a satellite is one of the two ways to kill a servo.

In The Sims 3, Sims can spot Satellites, among other astronomical features, while using a telescope to raise the Logic skill. Sims report their discovery remotely, name it, and thus earn a few §§§. Other Sims can spot pre-discovered Satellites while stargazing.
