Sneak Out is a term used when a Teen Sim chooses to go out of the house after curfew without permission. Sneaking Out is available only to Teenaged sims in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3

In The Sims 2

This action is available on the phone from 22:00 (10:00) PM to 1:00 AM. To have your Sim Sneak Out, click on the phone and choose "Call...Sim....Sneak Out", then your Sim will be asked with which Teen they would like to go and if accepted a message will appear on the upper-right corner with the selected teen Sim saying "Cool! I'll pick you up at 1AM." If rejected a card will pop up saying "(Sim Name) doesn't feel like going out right now."

When the car arrives, your Sim will promptly tip-toe to the car and will be out from 1AM until 4AM. Sims may also get caught sneaking out.

If the Sim is seen, an Adult Sim will run to the teen and lecture her/him, telling him to go to bed. The car vanishes, and the teen is forced to go to bed or be "chastised." When a Sim refuses to go to bed, they will be followed until they receive a slap in the face. The Teen is often "Busted" - in other words, arrested. The police will send them home in the back seat of a police car, and the teen will receive a red memory, which is pictured by hand cuffs.

Sneak out also has a memory with an image of a house in the dark and and arrow pointing away from the house. There is also a memory for getting caught which is the house an arrow, except that the background is red and the arrow has an "X" on it. Sneak out is different from Go out.

In The Sims 3

"Out after Curfew" moodlet

Sneaking out in The Sims 3 is not done over the phone, but occurs whenever a teen Sim leaves their home lot (or a lot they're spending the night at) during curfew. Teens in the game do not 'sneak out' with anyone. Sims who sneak out receive the "Out After Curfew" Moodlet, which provides +15 mood as long as the teen continues to break curfew.

Like The Sims 2, Sims can be caught breaking curfew by the Police. When caught, a police car will appear, the teen will walk to the car and be placed inside and be taken home; the player cannot cancel this action. Once home, a parent will greet the teen and lecture them for their behavior. The lectured Sim will receive the "Caught After Curfew" Moodlet, as well as -15 mood for 3 hours.
