A fire sprinkler is an object that extinguishes nearby fires. Fire sprinklers are included in The Sims 2: University, as the Skimmer Securities Ceiling Sprinkler. They cost §245, and are found in the Misc. > Misc. section of Buy mode.
Sprinklers must be placed indoors. A sprinkler covers a 5x5 area, centered on the sprinkler. Any fire that starts under the sprinkler or withing two squares of it will immediately be extinguished, but the sprinkler will leave a watery mess that must be mopped up. Nearby Sims will react to the sprinkler by running around with their hands over their heads until it stops operating. If the player cancels this action, it will be pushed back on the Sim.
Sims can pull a prank by taking out a lighter and putting it under a sprinkler, causing it to go off. On college lots, an evil mascot may do this autonomously.
