EA holds an annual Studio Showcase where upcoming games are featured[1]. This page show the Late Night segment for 2010. Next I'd like to announce that we are shipping The Sims 3: Late Night, also in fall, that's the next Sims 3 expansion pack. The Sims has got this lovely design dilemma, which is we simulate human beings and human beings spend a significant portion of their time at night, usually asleep. So it's sort of this weird area, so we wanted to explore it fully. So with Late Night what we do is we allow you to take lots of late night jobs. You can also go downtown to party and hang out with friends. There is musician, dilettantes, celebrity, hanging out at night clubs.
For the builders amongst you I know a lot of people love building, we've added a whole bunch of new build tools including penthouse lofts, so you can overlook the city when you build your Downtown. For those of you who enjoy roleplaying and telling stories, we've added hot tubs, lots and lots of hot tubs and new ways to WooHoo all around town. You gotta catch 'em all. And finally but not least many of our Sims players love the supernatural element in The Sims and so we kinda got a little bit crazy this year, we built this full vampire simulator into the game, it tracks bloodlines and there's multiple families around town, they got their own hangout where they meet, it's really fun. The Sims 3: Late Night is also around and you'll be able to check it out as you wander around the campus.
Before I show you a little bit of that; back at E3 I rambled on a little bit about how we were gonna take The Sims through time, space and themes. You'll be able to see the first instance of that behind closed doors, here at the show as well. I can't mention it here because we've got an embargo, but please come and check it out.
