Moving Away

If my sims kid gets taken away can I adopt other kids after the parents die and they move away? 71.81.74.22 (talk) 14:33, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

If the parents die... how do they adopt kids? Also, parents whose children have been taken away by Social Worker cannot adopt. I don't really understand your situation there, so I can't say much. Nikel Talk Vote for Featured Media! 14:43, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Family Tree

Hi.

I'm planning on making one family, The Yellow household, for say. It consists of a couple and their biogical toddler son. The thing is, I want that child to be taken away from his family, then later adopted by another family, say, The Red Household.

The question is, to the baby, does he lose his family ties, according to his family tree? I know that he will lose all memories prior to being taken, but to him, does he still remember his biogical parents? And do/will they remember their lost son?49.48.11.102 (talk) 03:27, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Pet Adoption Service in The Sims 2: Pets

I just had a household call to adopt a kitten at night, and it was delivered right away instead of at 10 AM the next day. The latest EP I have is FreeTime, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Dharden (talk) 17:58, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

I don't remember this, and I don't think later EP has any purpose or reason to change this behavior. According to Prima Guide, when you adopt a new pet from Pet Adoption Service, it says:

Once you select a pet, the Cop appears shortly with the new addition in tow.

It mentions nothing more about the delivery time. Prima Guide could be wrong, but they didn't mention anything about 10 AM. :/ The one from base game Prima Guide mentions this about child adoption though:

The new family member is delivered at 10 a.m. the next day.

Hmm... Checking the history shows that I originally put that in on August 3, 2010. At that time, my latest EP was Seasons. I've had FT long enough that I don't clearly remember that, but I'm assuming that it was something I'd observed in gameplay. I suppose it's possible that the intent was always that the pet would be delivered right away, but that it wasn't implemented until sometime after Pets. After all, they didn't fix the Biotech Station so the medicine actually worked until the FreeTime patch. Dharden (talk) 13:57, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I've checked it just now, with all EPs and SPs minus store. Here's what I got from my experiment. I called the pet adoption service at 9.30, and the pet adoption officer came right away to deliver my pet. I called again at 11.00, and she came right away again. I called at 18.00 and 3.15 (right, as in 3 AM), and same story, the officer came right away with no delay. So I can say the pet adoption service will come at any time of the day, judging they have nothing better to do at the office, providing the service at full 24/7.
In comparison, I also called adoption service at 9.40, and the social worker told me she will bring the baby tomorrow at 10. If you adopt at near 10 AM, the baby will eventually be delivered tomorrow. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:19, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
Delivery of adopted children seems to be governed by the day of the week indicator, regardless of when the call is made. I had a Sim call at around 12:30 on Tuesday, and the kid came on Wednesday. Dharden (talk) 03:52, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

Couple adoption (Sims 2)

Hi. I have a premade couple, who are supposed to adopt a baby taken away from another family. However, the first time I did that, the baby appeared only as the adopted child of the husband (who was the caller), and not the wife also. When I switched the wife calling, the reverse happened. The thing is, this baby is an Alien, resulted from the abduction of a male sim. Once the baby is adopted, his Alien father appears as well. Is that what's causing it? Is he the reason I can't have both couples share the adopted baby?Kajune (talk) 23:38, August 20, 2013 (UTC)

Social Worker Not Allowing Adoption After Taking Away Children...

While it is true that the social worker will not come once children have been taken away from the parents, the social worker may come eventually and allow the parents to adopt again. I think it is a way for the game to say, "Hey, you showed your responsibility, so the privilege of adoption is yours." I am not sure if the game requires time or a certain number of days passing to occur, or whether this rule depends on the parents' having and raising another child. I just want to put this up here, because I think it's worthy to be put into consideration. 65.24.105.132 (talk) 13:40, October 27, 2013 (UTC)
