How to convice butler to take a shower? Butler was hit by electricity and his clothes are burnt. He sleep, make homeworks, but never go to shower, or bathtub and is always in his burnt clothes. 20:25, December 15, 2010 (UTC)

To get the butler to take a shower, have your sim become friends with the butler. Then, he will usually ask (in a pop-up message, you get the option to choose yes or no) if you want to hang out since he is done with work. You can then use influence to get him to take a shower. You could also use boolprop testingcheatsenabled and shift click on the butler, and select the "make selectable" option. (This is best when he is not actively doing something.) Contradictions[edit source]

Two statements in the section about the Sims 2 AL butler are contradicted a few paragraphs later. I think the discussion in both cases should be put in one place and clarified. I have not played the butler yet, so I'm probably not the best person to this.

The butler is more than just a super-maid. For a base fee of §20, plus §25 per hour[3], he replaces the gardener, repairman, maid, and nanny as well, so having him is very useful and saves money.

All this comes at a price, as he is far more expensive than the maid, gardener, and repairman combined.

He'll cook light meals, but he'll do so intelligently: he only does it if the Sims on the lot are all hungry and there's no edible food served anywhere.

Some butlers are very annoying; they have an obsession with food even when everyone is sleeping and well-fed. If you make him selectable, and cross it out, he will cry.

Thanks in advance for any helpful changes. -- (talk) 12:33, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing that out! I'll try to revise it a bit later. Nikel Talk Vote Guess! 10:17, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
On a per hour basis, the butler is cheaper than having a maid, gardener, repairman, and nanny on the lot at the same time. For that matter, the butler costs less per hour than a repairman. In practice, the butler might be more expensive in the long term. At §25/hour for 11 hours/day plus the base §20/day fee, the butler would cost §295/day, and gets paid just to be on the lot. Maids and gardeners not only charge less, they leave for the day as soon as there's nothing more for them to do, which further reduces their usual per/day cost. Also, the gardener doesn't come every day. A repairman is only called when needed and leaves when finished, so is likely to cost less in the long term. Nannies charge less, and are also an as-needed service. Dharden (talk) 14:05, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

Butler[edit source]

I had a butler on TS2 once, and he was amazing. He cleaned everything, and I didn't need to do anything. If something was the slightest bit wrong, he would clean it within about 1 second. Butlers are great! BakeryChaz ~ (let's have a chat!) 10:05, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
