Her name[edit source]
I recently noticed something that might be worth telling here. In the Dutch version of Pets Faline is called Feline Wees. That her name is Feline instead of Faline isn't so surprising to me, this could be a normal translation or interpretation. However she has a different last name than the other people in the Kat household, while this is not the case in the English version. Her last name (wees) means orphan, what makes sense as she just got adopted by Tara. Why isn't she called differently in the English version? Does this appear in other languages of the game as well? And if not, why did they change her name for the Dutch version then? Tiezel (talk) 15:53, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know. Sometimes EA's ability to translate something into other languages is questionable, especially for naming. Since it doesn't appear in English version, no one got any clue about that. It's not even implied in their bio. :/ Nikel Talk – Vote! 13:01, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
I know it's (I would almost say) 'normal' for EA to make weird translations. For example the Burb family got in the Dutch version of The Sims 1 a whole different name than in The Sims 2 , first AND last names. It's only through the English version that we know they are the same Sims. But this is somewhat different.. For Faline her last name is somewhat relevant for her storyline. So I was just curious if maybe this was also the case in other translations of the game and if not, why they would only change HER last name and ONLY in the Dutch version. GERMAN VERSION NAME
If i am not wrong (for the same reason as by mickey) she has the same first name as in the english version (Faline) and the last name Katz 46.150.57.243 (talk) 15:30, August 12, 2017 (UTC)
