Stub status[edit source]

I removed the {{stub}} template from the article, then later noticed that stub was still on the article. I thought that I might simply have forgotten to remove it the first time (as I was doing other work with the article at that time), so I removed it again. Only after removing it (for what I thought was the first time) did I realize that SimDestroyer had in fact re-added the stub template after I had initially removed it; I did not intend to revert his revert.

That said, I don't think this article qualifies as a stub. In SimDestroyer's edit summary when he added the stub back on, he said that "There is more to this" in regards to the article. While I agree, I don't think the fact that the article is still missing information qualifies it as a stub. Stub, from what I've generally seen, refers to the article's length more than its content. You could add a template to the article specifying that it is in need of expansion in regards to certain topics, but I think it'd be difficult to say that the article is short enough to be a stub, unless my understanding of what a "stub" is is mistaken. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 17:26, November 18, 2018 (UTC)

Actually, I've just read up on Wikipedia's take on the meaning of a "stub," and I think their "definition" has a lot of merit:
There is no set size at which an article stops being a stub. While very short articles are very likely to be stubs, there are some subjects about which very little can be written. Conversely, there are subjects about which a lot could be written, and their articles may still be stubs even if they are a few paragraphs long. As such, it is impossible to state whether an article is a stub based solely on its length, and any decision on the article has to come down to an editor's best judgment.
The Wikipedia page on Stubs also does say, "Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they have significant problems or are noticeably incomplete. With these larger articles, a cleanup template is usually added instead of a stub template," but I think in this case, the initial application of a stub template is probably the right call. I withdraw my suggestion that the stub template be removed at this time. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 17:37, November 18, 2018 (UTC)
