 Article Merge

Does anyone think that this article should be merged with the Firefighter page? They are basically about the same thing. Joey.eyeball (talk) 04:43, November 1, 2013 (UTC) 

I disagree. They're not the same thing. This fire department is about the firefighter emergency NPC that will come to put out fire at your home, while the other Firefighter article is about Ambitions profession. They might sound similar, but in the game, they're both independent from each other. Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 04:46, November 1, 2013 (UTC)

They are only similar in that both deal with fires. The fire department as an emergency service that can be called or summoned with an alarm goes back to the original game, and that's what this article is about. Firefighter is specifically about the profession from Ambitions, and goes into depth about it. A merge would not be appropriate. Dharden (talk) 13:57, November 1, 2013 (UTC)

Rename

I think that renaming this article to Firefighter (NPC) fits better to the article's topic. The article is talking about the NPC Sims instead of the department itself. Besides, all other NPCs are referred to by their occupation, not by their department. We call them police, not police department; or nannies, not babysitting center. I support the idea of a name change. I was just trying to find the article on NPC Firefighters and found it very confusing that this page contains that information, especially since "Fire department" is more properly an Ambitions community lot designation, if I recall correctly.
