Granduncle vs. Great-Uncle?

I'm sorry, but it's confirmed that granduncle is the more proper and correct term than great-uncle. Great usually refers to how many generations up the uncle is. Such as great-granduncle = the brother of your great grandparent. A granduncle = you grandparents brother. So whoever changed it back, I just wanted to let you know what the correct terms it actually was. I know people usually use great-uncle, even I used to when I was younger. So it's understandable why you changed it. But granduncle > great-uncle. DarkSuicune2000 05:22, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

For as long as I can remember, I have always recalled great-uncle as the correct term. In-fact I have very seldomly heard the term "granduncle". According to what I've just looked up on the wikipedia, both terms are correct. However it seems that the wikipedia page treats "great-uncle" as the more common term of the two. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:57, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

Yes, but it never made sense to me. We don't say "great-father" for our grandfathers or "great-great-father" for our great-grandfathers... Why do we say it with our granduncles? Uh... I dislike the term grand-uncle as much as I dislike "Supposably". DarkSuicune2000 08:04, January 10, 2016 (UTC)
