Thanks for pointing that out, Lamp. I added a delete tag. Since A morris is apparently on, she should delete it. [[User:Sparrowsong|Sparrowsong]] 20:53, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Alyssa Girl - April 11

Oh! I knew this Aspiration! My little sister hack the cheat before and used it on some guy she brought back from the grave name Todd. It's nothing more then a aspiration used for things you can't see unless you die on death. It's like a Gods mode thing. When she was being the guy, on his rewords he could contacted the Grim Reaper. It was weird. Nothing really special about it. The guy she was being (Todd) his goals hr did wanted 3 kids to graduate school, and something about playing chest. It was like all aspiration into one! <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:Alyssa girl|Alyssa girl]] ([[User talk:Alyssa girl|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Alyssa girl|contribs]]) 16:50, April 11, 2015‎ (UTC) - [[Help:Signatures|Please sign your comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>]]</small>

==Power Aspiration vs "No Aspiration"==
Hi, I've noticed quite a few Sims who internally have no set aspiration (IE Pollination Technician, as well as a few bugged pre-deceased Sims from the base game, are listed as having Power instead. Is there any particular reason this is the case? Since setting Power through cheats instead defaults to no aspiration is there any way of being sure that these Sims actualy have this aspiration? :The Power aspiration and "No aspiration" are the same thing. There isn't any difference. So they should still be listed as having the Power aspiration. ― <span style="font-family:'Constantia'; font-weight:bold; font-size:108%;">[[User:C.Syde65|<font color="maroon">C.Syde</font>]]</span> <span style="font-family:'Adobe Garamond Pro'; font-size:108%;">([[User talk:C.Syde65|<font color="black">talk</font>]] | [[:Special:Contributions/C.Syde65|<font color="black">contribs</font>]])</span> 20:40, May 18, 2017 (UTC)

Is Power simply being used to (inaccurately) describe lack of aspiration? From a technical standpoint they are the same thing, sure. If you give a Sim Power through the Sim Modder it sets it to Nothing in SimPE, a trait which is shared by universal Sims and those lacking character data. No aspiration rolls wants randomly from Reputation and Romance. I realize it may be a stylistic choice to categorize them this way more than anything at this point, if Power is being used to refer to Sims with no aspiration data. From a factual standpoint, however, it is not the case that Sims such as the Reaper, deceased premades etc. were designed with this aspiration.

You can of course argue (I have seen this topic discussed before) that this is all conjecture, and nobody really knows for sure what went on during development, but surely Occam's razor would apply in such a situation. I'm not suggesting it all be changed or anything after all this time, just found it a bit odd that Sims lacking character data are instead described as having a scrapped aspiration which has little to do with their data. Whilst there is seemingly no difference within the game itself, listing them as power instead of no aspiration isn't quite accurate. I would maybe suggest that some information be added to this page eventually to improve the accuracy a little bit, but of course you all have the final say in the matter. Anybody can see for themselves in SimPe that ''nothing''''' '''and ''power ''do not share the same aspiration value and because of that are not essentially the same and should not be treated as such. To check aspiration values, go into SimPe, go to sim browser and find any sim with a supposed ''power aspiration'' or unknown aspiration, then click more, then click extended browser, then scroll down until you see a line in the left panel that says "00000068; 0x002E: Aspiration", then on the same line in the right panel you'll see a panel with a value. These are the values of all aspirations, I'm going to list them in decimal form as it's a little easier to understand than binary or hexadecimal:

*nothing: 0 - Used by Knut Futa, Patrick Jones, Vicki Sims, Melissa Sims, Luc Smith, Therapist (NPC), Grim Reaper (NPC), Pollination Technician (NPC), Hula Zombie (NPC).
*Romance: 1
*Family: 2
*Fortune: 4
*Unknown?: 8 - Used by Julius Caesar, Stephano Arlecchino, Momentilla Bramble, Judith Dottore.
*Popularity: 16
*Knowledge: 32
*Grow-Up: 64

I can't check Grilled Cheese, Pleasure and Power at the moment as I only have the base game installed presently but I do know they all have different values, can someone please check for me? To check Power just change a sims aspiration to power using Sim Modder, save the game then follow the process I listed above.

Global NPC's use no aspiration because they're not technically sims, it's why they also seem to have no character data. Sims such as Vicki Sims, Melissa Sims, Knut Futa, etc. all have no aspiration because of unintentional data loss. As for the Veronaville sims, I'm not sure... Veronaville is possibly the oldest of all neighborhoods (maybe second to Tutorial) and has a lot of leftover data from earlier game builds. '''Update:'''

Here are the last three aspirations:

*Power: 8 - Confirmed that [[Julius Caesar]], [[Stephano Arlecchino]], [[Momentilla Bramble]] and [[Judith Dottore]] all have the Power aspiration.
*Grilled Cheese: 100
*Pleasure: 128

I missed this sim but [[Hamlet Dane, Sr.]] also has the Power aspiration, so, as it appears, all Power sims from Veronaville are correct however it is limited to them only, makes sense since Veronaville is the oldest neighborhood.

Here are the photos proving my claims:

Here's Knut Futa, a sim claimed to have the Power aspiration who actually doesn't:

'''Updated 3:'''
I think some may find this interesting, it seems the Power aspiration became the Grow-Up aspiration, the category description for the Power/Grow-Up (they use the same files) shows this quite clearly... Despite this there are different aspiration values for both aspirations. Power likely existed before Grow-Up however was removed and replaced with Grow-Up leaving value 8 unused and updating the aspiration value to 64. While on topic, all of the files for the Craft aspiration exist.

:That is interesting! When I read your "Updated 2" and saw the picture showing Name: Grow Up Aspiration {Power - Aspiration} in that photo I thought, "Huh, what if power was grow up previously?" Anything interesting about Craft? I I had figured Craft was used for the console game instead, called Creativity. -- [[User:MadRayneM|MadRayneM]] ([[User talk:MadRayneM|talk]]) 03:53, April 4, 2020 (UTC)

Craft is completely finished in terms of coding, albeit it is underwhelming in terms of detail. The description for Craft is "Want to be crafty, eh?". I'm going to guess that it was likely intended to be the creativity aspiration which was featured on The Sims 2 PS2 since it kind of makes sense? I checked the game .exe and neither craft or Power is listed (keep in mind Power is now Grow-Up).
