Headshot[edit source]

The headshot on this Sim's page is not the original one found in SimPE. I know it's no big issue, but it would be nice if someone who has both The Sims 2: Seasons and SimPE on their computer could upload a new image (preferably an uncensored one in the format 'PNG') to replace this one. Thank you K6ka! :) -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:19, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

How did you know it wasn't the original pose? Nikel Talk Vote! 12:33, June 30, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, because when I played the game on a laptop and used the BoolProp testingcheatsenabled cheat to make one of my Sims know everyone with the "make me know everyone" option.
When I saw River's headshot in the Relationships panel (which was different from the current headshot), I knew that this must have been his "true" pose. The reason I knew was because of the comparison between his original headshot and the original headshot for Derek Vijayakar.
As you probably will have noticed, River's default headshot is less detailed and more polygonal than Derek's headshot.
Many of the pre-made playable Sims from The Sims 2 base game have less detailed and more polygonal thumbnails. This is also the case of the majority of pre-made playable and unplayable Sims from University, Open for Business, Life Stories, Seasons and Apartment Life, and a few from Bon Voyage and FreeTime.
However the Townies and NPCs from The Sims 2 base game (such as Derek Vijayakar) and The Sims 2: Nightlife, as well as a few Sims from other Expansion packs have headshots which are more detailed and less polygonal than the thumbnails such as River's.
It is possible for Sims who are created in-game to have rendered / compressed thumbnails like River's but that is relatively uncommon unless the sim/object detail is set to low. More detailed and less polygonal thumbnails always show the Sim as they look in-game.
Examples of some comparisons between more polygonal and less detailed thumbnails, and more detailed and less polygonal thumbnails can be found on this page. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:57, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, although I'm still confused how you can be very certain about it. >_> Oh well, it's nice that you can spot the subtle detail. Nikel Talk Vote! 05:42, September 12, 2014 (UTC)
