Well, the word "Yana" was not invented by The Sims, as they have a lot of words that are the same as words from actual languages (it uses the programmers native languages and modifies them a bit, so some phrases might have meaning in other languages. They also have Anglophone interjections and accents.) It also can stand for "You Are Not Alone", which was a kinda-plot point in the "Utopia" episode-story of Doctor Who (which i do not actually watch, but i read about a lot.)
