She is a member of the [[Roomies household (Sunset Valley)|Roomies household]] and is employed in the [[Politics]] career as a ballot counter when players start the game. Like a few other Sims in [[Sunset Valley]], she has a low job performance when first played. Tamara doesn't like to think about her past - her bio states that she was a very wild party animal when she was young and that she finds it hard to forget it, since she is surrounded by younger housemates. She has one point in the [[charisma]] skill.

Despite being a [[young adult]], Tamara is 10 nine days away from becoming an [[adult]]. She is the second oldest Sim in the Roomies household, the eldest being [[Stiles McGraw]].
