Uses

This template is intended for use on protected pages. It informs users that the page is semi- or fully-protected, and advises them to propose changes on the article talk page, or propose unprotection on the admins' noticeboard.

Syntax

{{Protected}}

Examples

The template is set up to display an accurate message based on the protection status of the page. If a page is semi-protected, this version of the template will display:

Page protected
Editing of this article by unregistered or newly registered users is disabled. Users affected by this may propose changes to the article or request that the article be unprotected.

If a page is fully protected, this version of the template will be displayed instead:

Page protected

Finally, if the template is placed on a page that isn't under protection, or if the template is placed on a page that was protected but where the protection has expired, the template will display this message:

[This template (Template:Protected) has been added to a page that is not currently under protection, and may be removed from the article.]
