Concern over sponsor ads
Some Simmers expressed concern over the amount of sponsor ads which might be placed in this stuff pack, especially on the Racing theme jumpsuits and Formula 1 racersfact. The first screenshots released of the stuff pack and the recent change in the Sims 3 EULA seemed to coincide. SimGuruJenn posted a response on TheSims3.com forum:

Trivia
* Fast Lane Stuff was rumored about a month before the official announcement, though the title and theme was only rumored a few days before the official announcement
* The Norwegian title of this stuff pack, The Sims 3: Full Fart Stæsj (which translates to The Sims 3: Full Speed Stuff) would go on to become a popular meme in the Sims community when people jokingly interpreted the word Fart as referring to flatulence instead of speed.
