;G9. Staff action

[[m:Staff|Miraheze staff]] and [[m:Stewards|stewards]] may occasionally intervene to delete pages, usually because of a violation of the Terms of Use or a DMCA Takedown Notice. Such deletions should ''not'' be reversed as this may cause legal troubles. This criteria should be applied to pages that are recreated after staff deletion. Administrators should check the deleted revisions and compare them to the one that has been recreated; if they are identical or similar, it should be deleted under this criteria. G9 does not apply to pages that have been deleted by the [[m:CVT|CVT]] or any deletions made by staff that were intended to simply remove vandalism, and not from a legal complaint.

Pages deleted due to a DMCA notice should ''not'' be restored. DMCA takedown notices, counter-notices, or inquiries about the deletion should be sent to {{nospam|staff|miraheze.org}}. The Sims Wiki is ''not'' in any position to provide legal advice or to carry out legal proceedings.

This applies to text pages and files that use content incompatible with the [[The Sims Wiki:Text of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License|Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license]], and have no credible assertion of fair use or public domain. Pages should only be deleted entirely if there is no content in the page history worth salvaging; if there is, the infringing revisions should be [[Project:Revision deletion|revision deleted]].

This applies to files where an identical or higher quality copy exists on either the [[c:|Wikimedia Commons]] or the [[commons:|Miraheze Commons]]. The file on Commons needs to be in the same file format as the one on {{SITENAME}}, be undoubtedly acceptable and of correct licensing there, and have all needed entries filled out on the file description page (so they do not get deleted). The file must also not be tagged with {{tl|Keep local}}, which requests that a local copy of the file be kept. If the file on Commons has a different file name than the one uploaded locally, all local links to that file need to be updated to point to the one on Commons ''before'' the deletion takes place.

This is for userpages of users that do not exist (check [[Special:ListUsers]]).
