Initial comments and musing[edit source]

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves while project members are signing up. If you haven't signed up, head over to the Project Members page and do so!

Meanwhile, I've been thinking about one or two things, which I will add to this page as they show up.

Why Re-Invent the Wheel?

First off, don't answer that question - it's a rhetorical question. But if you really want to know, the answer is that you shouldn't! That's why everyone who reads this should do themselves a favor and research other wikis, specifically popular and good wikis. Some of our sister Sims Wikis (in different languages) are good examples of good wikis - my particular favorites as far as layout and aesthetic are the Spanish-language Simspedia and French-language Les Sims Wiki (notice how similar LSW's mainpage layout is compared to ours... whose looks better?). Even non-Sims wikis are good things to look at, and there are a lot of excellent examples of well-designed wikis out there.

Why so serious?

Something that catches my attention when I visit those wikis is how fun they look! Their whole design is sleek and pretty, and makes me want to look at how the rest of their wiki looks. The Simspedia is even changed for the holidays! I guess my point here is that TSW can offer plenty of info without necessarily having to look "official." Just a thought.

Content Team[edit source]

I am surprised that nobody knew about this: Did you know that you can request a professional content team to redesign your wiki? They are really good and skilled, and offer a complete redesign. Even if we don't like it, there is a button on the theme designer to restore it. Check it out here, or see more of their work and testimonials here and here . Finally, here are the requirements.
