Thomas Jones is one of the friends of Alice Whitt. They steadily develop a relationship throughout the story. His dog Lucy and Alice's dog Sam get together at the end of the game and have three puppies. Throughout most of the story Thomas had helped Alice get through her troubles with debt and the kidnapping of her own dog Sam.

In Open End Classic mode, the family bio says he and Alice have known each other since they were kids. It also says he has had a crush on her ever since they were children but was too nervous to tell her. It is unknown if he is related to any of the Sims with the surname Jones who appear in The Sims and The Sims 3, but it is unlikely.

Even though none of Thomas' facial features use any of the broken Maxis face templates in Create a Sim, when he grows into an elder, it becomes clear that his facial features are nonetheless broken.
