Trait is a personality system in The Sims 4, similar to the trait system in The Sims 3. The personality system as a building block of Sims in The Sims 4 is a combination of trait from The Sims 3 and aspiration from The Sims 2.

Not much is known about the trait system in The Sims 4 yet. In The Sims 4: Create A Sim Official Gameplay trailer, it exhibits several examples of traits that are possessed by Bella Goth and Mortimer Goth, who are featured in the trailer. The traits that have been confirmed are as following:

• Creative
• Outgoing
• Romantic

• Gregarious
• Bro
• Insane
• Glutton
• Hopeless Romantic
• Materialistic
