Trait

Animations that represent the Sims' traits

For a general description of traits, see Trait.
For other examples of traits in The Sims series, see Trait (disambiguation).

Trait is a personality system in The Sims 4, similar to the trait system in The Sims 3. The personality system as a building block of Sims in The Sims 4 is a combination of trait from The Sims 3 and aspiration from The Sims 2.

Not much is known about the trait system in The Sims 4 yet. In How To Create Your Perfect Sim in The Sims 4 video[1] and E3 gameplay presentation[2], a number of traits have been shown. The number of traits that appear in the release version may be different. There are three kinds of traits in the game, i.e. normal traits, bonus traits, and reward traits. Each kind has different ways to earn them.

List of Traits

Normal traits are main personality traits. Sims that are created in CAS may have up to three traits. It was hinted that Sims are not limited to three traits only.[3] Sims may be able to learn additional traits as they progress in the game.[3] The following list is the traits that are shown in the CAS preview videos.
