Trait chips are trait system that are only assigned to plumbots, replacing the trait system of Sims, featured in The Sims 3: Into the Future. There are 21 trait chips available in the game.
Each trait chip is placed into one of four hidden categories: ability, skill, service, and social. Different trait chip applies different effects on plumbots. Plumbots may have 3 to 7 slots depending on their quality level. Plumbots can be upgraded to have more trait chip slots. Sims are able to buy trait chips from the bot emporium in Oasis Landing.
