There is a known glitch associated with the Ottomas twins, where the father in their family tree will be a random Sim instead of their supposed father, Peter. This has caused some players to believe that Samantha has been unfaithful (despite the fact that she is a Family Sim, and that it is her husband who aspires to Romance). However, since the "father" on the family tree is never consistent - and often observed to be biologically or chronologically impossible (e.g. a female Sim, a teen or younger, a special NPC such as the Hula Zombie or Grim Reaper, a long-deceased Sim, a Sim from another neighbourhood entirely, or, perhaps most disturbingly, a pet) - it is most likely that this is simply a game glitch, which can be fixed by editing the twins' family trees in SimPE. Installing The Sims 2: Seasons patch also fixes this glitch, but it will only fix instances of the family that hasn't been loaded in the Family Bin, or hasn't been moved in yet. If the neighborhood was loaded with the family in the Family Bin, or if the family has been moved in already, the bug will not be fixed. If the bug is ignored, neighborhood corruption may occur.
The Ottomas twins are known to have bug. When they're born, the twins' father when looked in the family tree might be connected to random Sim, whether it's a townie, an NPC, the Grim Reaper, or even a pet. Moreover, the babies might look deformed. When the twins are left born in an unpatched game, they will eventually lead to neighborhood corruption. The bug is fixed in Seasons patch, but it will only fix instances of the family that hasn't been loaded in the Family Bin, or hasn't been moved in yet (i.e. the family is already in the Family Bin before the game is patched). The other solution would be to terminate Samantha's pregnancy.

The Unborn Ottomas twins are the youngest members of the Ottomas family, who are shipped with The Sims 2: Seasons expansion pack. Not much is known about them, as their genders and personalities are randomly selected after their birth in-game.

Once the twins are born, the household will be at full capacity, since they live with their parents, three older siblings and paternal grandmother. Therefore, the option to try for or adopt a baby, or to invite another Sim to marry or move in, will not be available until the household is reduced by one - usually after the death of Dora, or when David goes to college or moves out.

Peter and Samantha's genetics don't seem to mix very well, because many players have noticed the twins growing up with physical characteristics considered unattractive, though this is not an absolute truth since it also depends on players' beauty ideal and the opinion may change from player to player.
