An unused accessory are clothing/genetics that appears in a picture (a family tree, mostly) but does not appear in the game. This occurs in The Sims and The Sims 2, though it is much more noticeable in The Sims 2. There are a few examples of Sims such as Irma Oldie and Darleen Dreamer that appear to use these accessories. Here is a gallery of a few pictures showing Sims with unused accessories. Its mostly seen on females.
