The administrators here at The Sims Wiki would like to wish everyone a safe and fun Christmas and happy holidays! Recent Developments[edit source]The Wiki has hardly taken a holiday, and there have been many developments here over the past few weeks. In no particular order:
BobNewbie (talk · contribs · editcount · block · modify rights · logs · block log) has been made TSW's Community Director, and he already has plenty of ideas for new and improved features here on the wiki. Look for more ideas from him to be implemented in the new year. Congrats BobNewbie! Additionally, GEORGIEGIBBONS (talk · contribs · editcount · block · modify rights · logs · block log) has been nominated for the position of Ombudsman (consider this somewhat like a mediator position), and their nomination is currently under consideration on this page. This is hardly open-and-shut, however; if you wish to apply for the Ombudsman (or Forum Moderator) position, feel free to add a request on the Requests for administratorship page.
After a very lengthy discussion at the Community Portal talk page, our community has renewed its drive to maintain and increase our membership and activity here. Along with this, many ideas have been introduced. These include a new wiki logo contest, a contest to create a Wiki Mascot, Wiki Battles, a redesign to the selection of Featured Articles and Featured Media, and "event days." More ideas are always appreciated; if you have an idea, post it on the Community Portal talk page or send a message to BobNewbie, the Community Director, on his talk page.
The Administrators, led by A morris, have begun work on redesigning the wiki's Main Page. This redesign may coincide with a change to the wiki's logo and/or the wiki's green plumbbob background. To voice your ideas or concerns regarding a redesign, go here! Stay tuned to future news updates regarding the redesign.
Random Ranaun has proposed community reconsideration of a merge with The Sims Fanon Wiki, or an expansion of what kinds and to what extend Fanon (fan-created content) is allowed on The Sims Wiki. This discussion is still ongoing and insight is, as always, welcome and wanted. A proposal has been made in the matter, but changes to the proposal may be needed in order to reach consensus. Future updates may explain this in more detail if conversations continue.
The Sims Wiki has activated Top 10 Lists! You can participate in current lists or create your own lists, and have other members vote on the items on these lists. This is a small reminder that, as usual, we have many articles here that need some work; if you're bored, why not take a crack at some of the items on this list?
