Did you have a New Year's party that looked like this?

Hello everyone! I hope your new year is off to a good start.

Graham Nardone clarifies how The Sims 4 will handle emotion. The Sims 4 producer Graham Nardone (aka "SimGuruGraham") made a series of tweets regarding how TS4 would and would not handle emotion, including clarifying how objects, outfits, colors, etc could affect a Sim's emotional state. Previous information about emotions had suggested that specific objects could have an emotional effect on Sims near them. Thanks to SimsVIP for the scoop!

Twallan retires from mod development. Twallan, designer of the well-known NRaas modifications for The Sims 3, has announced that he will no longer be working on or providing support for his mods, and will not be producing new mods for The Sims 3 or The Sims 4. Along with his announcement, Twallan released the source code for his modifications, allowing other modders to update the modifications. You can read more about his retirement here.

Community interactions[edit source]

We've got a couple places right now where you can give your input on aspects of The Sims series. For instance, Lab wants to know what your favorite expansion pack in the series is. There's also some talk about whether illness/diseases should be a part of TS4. Be sure to jump in and give your opinion, or else start a forum thread or blog post for yourself!

Poll[edit source]

We're already a week into 2014, but it's still a long ways to go until the release of The Sims 4. On top of this, we already know that there won't be any more expansion packs for The Sims 3, meaning we might not have much new stuff to keep us occupied until TS4. However, The Sims design team has hinted that features for TS3 may still be released this year. What do you think?

Do you think The Sims Studio/Maxis should release new content for The Sims 3?
