Yes, happy 4th of July to everyone in America! In order to complete your 4th of July celebrations, The Sims Wiki has followed through with their promise to deliver weekly news. So let's go!

The Sims news

• The Sims 2, all subsequent expansions and The Sims Stories titles have been removed from Origin. Currently EA haven't made any statement about why they removed the games from the service. And there was everyone hoping for a Complete Collection for TS2 to be released on Origin. Gabe, you know you love us...
  • On a tangently related story, Darkspore, another title developed by Maxis, was removed from Steam due to always-on DRM issues only to return swiftly.
• The Sims 3: Island Paradise has topped the UK PC gaming charts along with the base game and several other expansion packs. Coincidentially, every game in the top 10 that was published by EA and is either part of The Sims series or SimCity while the other two games were published by Sega.
• Maxis are rumored to be adding larger cities and an offline mode to SimCity, based on results from a recent survey. SimCity 4 loyalists everywhere are considering the upgrade should they follow through.
• Somebody in Iowa recieves backlash over a successful family they created in-game. Oh the jealousy...

Wiki news

• A Project of the Month dedicated to cleaning up the file namespace has started. Please stop on by and contribute to this effort. Those who do so will even get a mention in a future news blog. ;)
• As always there are Community Discussions awaiting input. Here are the current ones as follows:
  • Discussing how to handle videos based on Wikia's recent changes
  • Generating ideas for future monthly projects (like the files one listed above)
  • Discussing what to do with our YouTube channel
  • Proposal to merge compilation articles
  • Discussing the usage of the Era template
